- Baseboards, floor edges, and accessible flooring.
Check appliance care instructions and confirm any access or disconnection requirements in advance. Do not assume a cleaner will move heavy appliances.
Bathrooms and living spaces
- Showers, tubs, toilets, sinks, and mirrors.
- Empty vanity drawers and accessible medicine cabinets.
- Closet shelves, door handles, and reachable door frames.
- Baseboards, window sills, tracks, and agreed interior glass.
- Carpet edges, closet floors, and appropriate hard-floor care.
Check whether the property manager asks for carpet extraction or other specialist work. Vacuuming and carpet extraction are different services; arrange specialist tasks separately if required.
Prepare for the handover
Review the agreed checklist while there is still time to raise a missed area. Take dated photos of the empty property, including pre-existing damage, and keep any relevant cleaning receipt. Follow your property manager’s process for returning keys and reporting issues.
Cleaning does not repair damage, replace missing items, or decide the outcome of an inspection. Deposit decisions depend on more than cleanliness, so avoid booking based on promises of a guaranteed refund.
